Pornhub เพิ่งกำจัดวิดีโอที่ผู้ใช้อัปโหลดหลายล้านรายการ อะไรตอนนี้?

Following the absolute reckoning brought on to it by a damning exposé by The New York Times, Pornhub has purged millions of user-uploaded videos from its site.

This comes shortly after the swift exit of payment partners Visa and Mastercard, which severed ties with the site after the New York Times report showed that Pornhub hadn’t done much in terms of content regulation.

This rang especially true when it came to videos that featured underaged girls and depictions of rape of both adults and young women.

And after all the backlash, Pornhub has finally removed the majority (if not all) unverified content on the site.

The site has also made efforts to ban users who have been posting unverified content from uploading anymore illegal videos.

In fact, some are still being weeded out. In the event you do come across a video that’s pending deletion, you’ll be met with a notification similar to the one below:

“As part of our policy to ban unverified uploaders, we have now also suspended all previously uploaded content that was not created by content partners or members of the Model Program,” the company said in a statement.

“This means every piece of Pornhub content is from verified uploaders, a requirement that platforms like Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, Snapchat, and Twitter have yet to institute.”

Prior to the mass removal of unverified content, Pornhub hosted a total of 13.5 million videos. After the purge started, the number of videos hosted on the site took a steep nose-dive to 4.7 million.

Then, shortly after, the number of videos slowly started to climb back up to 7.2 million.

Despite all the flak, Pornhub claims that they’re being unfairly singled out for political reasons, as opposed to genuine ethical concern.

“The two groups that have spearheaded the campaign against our company are the National Center on Sexual Exploitation (formerly known as Morality in Media) and Exodus Cry/TraffickingHub,” the company continued in their statement.

Pornhub claims the two aforementioned organizations had always demonized the porn industry, as well as sex workers.

“These are the same forces that have spent 50 years demonizing Playboy, the National Endowment for the Arts, sex education, LGBTQ rights, women’s rights, and even the American Library Association,” Pornhub said.
