Dream big. Scale up. Pay it forward.
This is the motto of Endeavor, a leading global high-impact entrepreneurship movement that aims to drive economic growth and job creation by selecting, mentoring, and accelerating the best high-impact entrepreneurs from around the world.
Staying true to its motto, the New York-based movement that has presence in 37 growth markets across the globe recently gave two Malaysian startups a huge boost.
Touted as high-impact tech startups, HealthMetrics and Lapasar recently underwent the grueling Endeavor Malaysia’s First Local Selection Panel for 2021, which they passed with flying colors.
Both companies, projected to achieve exponential growth in three-to-five-years’ time, saw their founders pitch to high-caliber industry experts.
These experts included the founder and CEO of Creador, Brahmal Vasudevan, Pizza Hut Malaysia’s Head, Loi Liang Tok, Media Prima Omnia Executive Director and CEO, Michael Chan, and FashionValet Co-founder and CEO, Fadzaruddin Anuar, who is also the board member of Endeavor Malaysia.

With over 4,000 healthcare providers on their platform, HealthMetrics is looking into creating a fully-digital integrated platform accessible to all organizations across the region.
Calling itself an end-to-end platform to simplify employee benefits administration and healthcare management, the company recently successfully raised US$5 million Series A funding in Q4 of 2020.
This will give the company the needed boost to scale their operations and execute expansion plans regionally to two-to-three countries in the Southeast Asian region.
“This is our second time going through the selection process. We have met over ten Endeavor mentors and multiple workshops through the ScaleUp Endeavor Program. Each and every advice that we have received has played a crucial part to the decisions we make in our scaling journey,” CEO and Co-founder of HealthMetrics, Alvin Yuan said.

Lapasar on the other hand is an online e-commerce platform built to remove barriers for corporates and for retailers.
Achieving tremendous growth over the past few months, since the platform focuses on FMCG Wholesale, Lapasar aims to build the largest tech-enabled distribution company in Malaysia with the largest capabilities to move goods all across the nation.
Giving entrepreneurs a helping hand.
Starting a business and then attempting to scale it is no walk in the park as entrepreneurs will face challenges in terms of improving the business model and expanding their
business across the nation.
Expansion also comes with a price: Higher cost of failure, and founders know that the key lies in managing their capital and acquiring high quality talent.
This is where Endeavor comes in.
“The selection process at Endeavor is key to select, mentor, and support high-impact entrepreneurs to ultimately grow faster and benefit our economy through job creation and by mentoring and investing in other entrepreneurs,” Managing Director of Endeavor Malaysia, Adlin Yusman said.
Endeavor has dubbed this the multiplier effect: Key for building an entrepreneurial
ecosystem in Malaysia.
“As part of our efforts to service scaleups, Endeavor Malaysia will start working with HealthMetrics and Lapasar with their business challenges, extending its network of mentors and resources to grow the company moving forward.”
