It’s 2021. Things can’t get anymore surreal than catching a concert through a Pepsi bottle.
Thanks to a clever initiative by Pepsi, Malaysia got its very own AR concert.
Featuring popular local artiste Siti Nordiana as the headliner, the concert alsofeatures three passionate local talents – the likes of freestyle footballer Aidil, dancer Bell, and singer Syafeek.
The three of them won the #PepsiBoldTalent audition challenge after beating over 3,000 participants.
Here’s how you can experience an AR concert for yourself.

Step 1: Grab a Pepsi Black Raspberry.
Step 2: On your smartphone’s browser, head over to pepsiARconcert.com.
Step 3: Scan the Pepsi logo.
Step 4: Sit back, and enjoy the show while sipping on some Pepsi.
A note though: The AR concert is only available on Pepsi Black Raspberry bottles.
Salman Butt, Senior Marketing Director APAC of PepsiCo said that music is a key way for the company to connect with its fans. In fact, PepsiCo knows that music lovers in
Malaysia have been missing the concert experience for over a year due to the pandemic.
“So, we decided to bring them the first-ever augmented reality concert in Malaysia – something that has never been done before in Malaysia, yet it is very much in line with our bold personality and pioneering nature.”
With its latest offering, the Pepsi Black Raspberry, Salman said that the brand is drawing upon the bold taste of the beverage and its spirit of challenging the norm by
making this exclusive concert content only accessible to consumers who purchase the bottle.
The beverage itself comes with an exciting new cola flavor, offering a bold taste with no calories.
A special experience.
While you need to ensure you’re at a location that has a strong internet connection, the AR concert by itself is a pretty surreal experience. I mean, 10 years ago this wouldn’t have been possible and here we are, sipping on a bottle of Pepsi Black Raspberry to a concert.
However, at the heart of the initiative is gratitude, according to Jennifer Lee, Beverage Marketing Lead of PepsiCo.
“We wanted to thank our loyal Malaysian fans by creating a really special experience for them, and what could be a better way than elevating homegrown Malaysian talents and offering them a platform to showcase their bold spirit and brave determination.”
Lee added that this groundbreaking AR concert highlights the best of Malaysian talents and opens up a new avenue for locals to express themselves and achieve their dreams, in line with Pepsi’s aim of championing the bold and brave generation of today, and continuing to bring excitement and new experiences to Malaysians.
